Wilfred was born in Paterson, New Jersey on August 28, 1977, the proud son to Carmen (Otero) and Alfredo Ortiz. By trade he was an expert Welder who specialized in the fabrication and construction of Commercial Kitchens. Wilfred was an avid Drone enthusiast who also enjoyed auto racing, both Drifting and Formula 1. He loved the beach and basically anything and everything to do with the outdoors, especially camping, grilling and barbequing. His favorite food, however, was some shrimp cocktail. When the calendar turned to fall, you would always find him dressed in support of Big Blue, and cheering on the New York Football Giants.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his beloved Karren Germann, daughter Ashley Ann Ortiz, son Alfredo Thomas Ortiz, mother Carmen Germann and father Alfredo Ortiz. He also leaves behind a number of extended family members and countless others who were proud to call him a friend. Wilfred will be fondly remembered and warmly missed by everybody he knew.
A Funeral Service for Wilfred will be celebrated at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 8, 2026 inside the Remembrance Events Center at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 950 Chiquita Boulevard S., Cape Coral, Florida 33991, (239) 283-0540. Guests will be received for Visitation for two hours preceding this ceremony beginning at 11:00 AM also inside the funeral home chapel. At the conclusion of the funeral service, family and friends will recess to adjacent Coral Ridge Memorial Park and Cremation Gardens where Wilfred will be laid to rest inside the Masonic Garden.
