Bill was born in York, Pennsylvania on July 2, 1948, the proud son to Lillian (West) and Ai "Dick" Wilson. Bill was a Veteran of the United States Army where he was trained as a Combat Medic and thereafter continued his service for many years as a member of the Army Reserve. In his civilian career, Bill became an innovator in the growing field of Direct Marketing and worked directly with many prominent clients such as Hanover Direct, Book of the Month Club, Childcraft and Disney Direct. He was also the founder of his own company, DM Transportation Management Services Inc. Over the course of his 25 year stewardship, Bill took this company from the grass roots level and determined how to develop product demand, how to purchase smartly, the need for tight inventory management and the importance of logistics to an organization judged on its ability to deliver. Bill's business model was a success and he served in almost every rank of senior management, culminating as President of DM Transportation Management until the time of his retirement.
Bill leaves to cherish his memory his adored wife Stephanie (Hudak) Wilson of 55 years, his son Mark W. Wilson and his spouse Kate Gorman Hanrahan and grandson Keenan Craig Wilson of Bradenton, Florida; his son Daniel S. Wilson and his spouse Noy Vilaychith Wilson and granddaughter Kylie May Wilson and twin step-granddaughters Aliyah Vilaychith and Asia Vilaychith from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania; his brother Richard Wilson of York, Pennsylvania and sister-in-law Carolann Hudak-Martin of Bokeelia, Florida. He also leaves behind a number of family members and a multitude of others who were proud to call him a friend. Bill will be warmly remembered and fondly missed by everybody he knew.
Immediate funeral services are private. Arrangements for Bill's final care have been entrusted to Coral Ridge Funeral Home and Cemetery, 950 Chiquita Boulevard S, Cape Coral, FL 33991, (239) 283-0540.
