

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donna Thomsen, who will be forever remembered for her kindness, generosity and optimism. Donna passed away in the Palliative Care Unit, Regina Pasqua Hospital, with family be her side. She leaves her husband Gordon, daughters Lorie and Sandra, sister Anne Lewis (Don), nephews Todd (Terry), Rod (Lucy)
and John (Jennifer) as well as great nieces and nephew, cousins and many dear friends. Donna was predeceased by her
parents, father John A. McKillop and mother Mildred (Millions) McKillop Clark and her stepfather Frank Clark. Born in Estevan,
Donna was raised and attended public school in CArnduff. She graduated from RGH nursing school in Regina in 1957 and received a diploma of administration from the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon the following year. Donna worked as an RN at the Regina General Hospital for ten years until she married Gordon Thomsen in 1966. Donna and Gordon raised
their daughters in Carlyle, where Donna worked as district manager for Cannington Home Care. In 2008, Gordon and Donna moved to Regina. During her time in Carlyle, Donna was committed to her community and the United Church. She was known for her genuine interest in people, her sense of humour, and her determination and strength. She loved gardening, cooking and visiting with her many friends. Donna will be deeply missed. The family would like to thank Dr. Bester, Dr. Chal Chal, Nurse John, and the staff of 3B and Palliative Care at Pasqua Hospital. A Celebration of Donna's Life will be held in Carlyle at the United Church on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Donna may be made to Saskatchewan Cancer Agency at 204 3775 Pasqua Street, Regina, Saskatchewan S4S 6W8.
