Michael Alan Vasil, 61, of Carmel died peacefully surrounded by his family on March 27, 2020, following a lengthy and valiant battle with Liposarcoma. Mike was a man whose faith and family were the cornerstones of his life. He was born in Chicago, IL to Leonard and Shirley (Howell) Vasil on November 7, 1958. He was the middle of three sons. After graduating from high school, Mike attended Ball State University before starting his own construction company, Vasil Construction, LLC, in 1978.
On August 22, 1981, he married his high school sweetheart, Margi Adams. Mike and Margi were blessed with two children, Jim and Meghan. After a lengthy, successful career in his business, Mike retired at 60 years of age.
In addition to being very active with his family, Mike was a master of his craft, an avid golfer, creative problem solver, and helping hand to others in need. He always loved a good Manhattan (Wisconsin style) and spending time with family and friends. It gives some comfort to his family to imagine Mike with his beloved dog, Cooper, by his side.
Mike is survived by his loving wife Margi, their son Jim, daughter Meghan (Justin) Bowers, two beautiful granddaughters, Aubrey and Emily, parents Len and Shirley Vasil, brothers Rick (Kathy) and Bob (Jeannie). In laws, Jack and Mary Lou Adams, Lynne (Steve) Novak, John (Janet) Adams, and Greg (Amy) Adams. He was also blessed with many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at Our Lady of Mt Carmel (14598 Oakridge Rd, Carmel, IN 46032) on Tuesday, September 15th. Visitation at 10am, Mass at 11am with burial at Oak Lawn Cemetery (9700 Allisonville Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46250) immediately following. Masks and social distancing will be required.
