Barb attended Scecina Memorial High School, where she played the clarinet along with twirling the baton in the school band. A devoted fan and part owner of the Green Bay Packers, she also found great joy in attending several generations of baseball games—always keeping the scorebook with precision and pride. Above all, Barb cherished her role as a grandmother, embracing not only her own grandchildren but many others she lovingly “adopted” along the way.
She was a member of Church at the Crossing and actively participated in her church group, finding community and faith among friends.
Barb is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Alerding (Tony); her grandchildren, Aydan and Isaac Alerding; her siblings, James Fiddler (Cindy), Mary Ellen Bache, Dorothy Hood (Steve), and Joseph Fiddler.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Diane Whitsitt; her father, Francis Fiddler; her stepfather, Charlie Whitsitt; and her brothers, John Fiddler (Janet) and Tommy Fiddler.
A visitation will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Leppert Mortuary – Carmel Chapel, 900 N. Rangeline Rd., Carmel, IN 46032, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Barb will be laid to rest at Carmel Cemetery.
