Brian Patrick Darcy, age 71, of Carmel, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. Brian was born in Chicago, Illinois to Patricia Darcy and William Darcy. He spent his childhood in Toledo, Ohio and then Holland, Michigan, where he graduated from Holland High School. He moved to Central Indiana in the early 1980s, which he made home for the remainder of his life.
Brian was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, his father’s alma mater. He worked for many years as a financial advisor with Morgan Stanley. Throughout his career he maintained a loyal client base due to his dedication and stock market savvy. Brian was easily able to become friends with his coworkers; they enjoyed him for his easy going, kind nature. Even after retirement, he kept up with market trends and was always willing to give his sons financial insight from his years of experience.
The same kindness and generosity he showed in his professional life was evident in his personal life and as a father. Brian was a volunteer coach for his sons’ youth sports teams with the Carmel Dads’ Club, where he led his teams to two championships. He found great joy in spending time with his sons and their friends, whom he always treated like his own.
Brian had a passion for all things Notre Dame. He instilled his love of Notre Dame football to his children. He took them to games growing up, loved hosting and attending tailgates with friends and family, and amassed a collection of memorabilia featuring jerseys, pieces of the stadium, and autographed footballs. His love for his alma mater continues to live on through the friends and family that have shared so many wonderful memories with him as a fan over the years.
Brian was also a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. In all areas of his life, he radiated kindness, happiness, and love for those he cherished the most.
Brian is survived by his son Colin Darcy (Courtney); his son Michael Darcy; his son Patrick Darcy; and his son William Darcy; his sister Anne Cleary (Bill), his brother Neal Darcy (Lori) and his sister Mary Beth Jonkman. Brian was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Kathleen Darcy.
A visitation for Brian will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 14598 Oak Ridge Rd., Carmel, Indiana 46032, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. A luncheon will take place at Our Lady of Mount Carmel immediately following mass.
