Catherine L. Stafford

Catherine L. Stafford was born in North Vernon Indiana on January 29, 1939, to Herschel and Clara. She peacefully passed away on August 8, 2024, at The Restoracy of Whitestown with her dear friend Karen by her side. Catherine attended and graduated from Carmel High School. She married Nolan in 1970 and was happily married till he passed away in 1995. Catherine worked as a custodian for both Westfield and Carmel School systems for over 20 years. She was a member of the local Westfield Home Economic Club and also was a member of the Red Hat Society. When Catherine retired, she enjoyed many trips with her two sisters Doris and Nancy, she loved to go on trips. Catherine loved to sew and making quilts was a favorite of hers till she just couldn't do it any longer due to her failing health. She switched to making puzzles to occupy her time and once she completed a puzzle her brother Harold would make frames for them. She had many of her puzzles on display at her group home at The Restoracy of Whitestown so the other patients and staff could enjoy them. The family would like to thank the staff at The Restoracy of Whitestown for making Catherines final days as peaceful and pain free as possible. We also would like to thank her dear friend Karen for spending time with her before her passing away and spending the final minutes with her.

Catherine had three brothers Harold (Wife Pat), Virgil (Wife Joyce), Dale (Wife Debbie) and two sisters Doris (Husband Kenny) and Nancy. She has two children from a previous marriage, a daughter Kathleen (Husband Mike) and a son Ronnie (Wife Sherry). Catherine shared one daughter Judy with Nolan. There are two sons Don (Wife Claudia) and Wayne from Nolan's previous marriage. There is six grandchildren Leslie (Husband Brad), Kyle (Wife Meredith), Jessica, Ashly, Jordan and Karlee. She has 10 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Catherine was predeceased by her parents Herschel and Clare, Husband Nolan, Brothers Virgal and Dale, Sister Nancy, Sister-in-Law Pat, Step Sons Wayne and Don.

A visitation for Catherine will be held Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Leppert Mortuary – Carmel, 900 N. Rangeline Rd., Carmel, Indiana 46032, followed by a funeral service at 1:30 PM.

Catherine will be laid to rest in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN.
