

Charles Erwin Husman, 80, passed away on January 4, 2023 after a lengthy battle with multiple myeloma. He was a resident of Summerfield, Florida and Carmel, Indiana. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Catherine Bigot Husman, his son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Laura Husman, and grandsons Glen and Peter.
Charlie was born on December 10, 1942, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Erwin L. and Harriett A. Husman. His family moved to Wisconsin, where he grew up, before moving to Indiana after he graduated from Wauwatosa High School in 1960. He continued his education received a B.S. degree from Purdue University, an M.A. from Ball State University, and a J.D. from Indiana University Indianapolis School of Law. He spent the bulk of his career with Indiana National Bank and its successors, serving first as Vice President and Corporate Tax Manager, and later as Vice President and Estate Administrator. He was a member of the American Bar Association and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Upon retirement, Charlie and Cathy became snowbirds and spent winters in Florida. There, Charlie became an active volunteer with the AARP Tax-Aide program, both preparing tax returns for low and moderate income people, and holding various administrative positions, including District Coordinator. Retirement also provided the opportunities for many wonderful trips, including his final trip to China. Hawaii remained his favorite destination. He was an avid tennis player and bicyclist as long as his health permitted. He was a long-time member of the Carmel Racquet Club and Harbor Hills Tennis Club. He particularly enjoyed attending the annual reunions and monthly lunches of the INB Retired Officers Association.
Services will be private with burial at Zionsville Cemetery.
