Born on June 24, 1932, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Charles Agustus "Gus" Wilson and Dorothy Emerich Wilson, Chuck had a heart for service that guided his life. He proudly served in the US Navy from 1951-1955, earning the rank of 2nd Class Gunner's Mate and the respect of the 50 sailors under his command. He remained a proud Veteran his entire life.
Chuck married Doris Polson in 1956 and their four children Neda, Michael, Marc, and Kimmi, were the center of his universe. In 1977 he married Patsy Baxter and they lived a beautiful life together for nearly 47 years. It was apparent to all that Patsy was the love of his life.
Affectionately known as "The Incredible Hulk," Chuck had a quick wit and a heart of gold. His sense of humor was legendary.
Chuck always made sure that his loved ones knew he had their back. He was the first to show up, work hard, and protect those he loved. He was the first to shovel his neighbors' driveways on snowy mornings and the last to leave a loved one's side in times of need. His generosity and kindness inspired all who knew him.
Although he will be deeply missed by his wife, Patsy; daughters, Neda (John) and Kimmi (John); sons, Michael (Diane) and Marc (Barbara); 9 grandchildren, 23 Great-Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great Grandchild and brother, Michael, all are comforted by the memories of his infectious laughter, his unwavering support, and his boundless love. May we all be so lucky to live an extraordinary 92 years and be surrounded by our loved ones until the end.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Guardian Angels Hospice, Marlene Wilson, Mark and Susie Verry, Jodi and Roger Wolfe, Joyce Corts, Chaplain Adam, and Pastor Aaron, who was praying with Charles and his family when he took his final journey.
As the sailors would say, "Fair winds and following seas." We bid Chuck a final farewell, wishing his spirit good luck and safe travels on the ultimate journey. He will live on in the hearts of all who loved him - he was truly unforgettable.
