

Dan was born on August 12, 1948, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Eldo and Maxine (Case) Schoenherr. He graduated from Concordia Lutheran High School. After earning his degree from the Indiana University School of Business he pursued a career in finance. He proudly served his country for six years in the Indiana National Guard.
Dan appreciated life’s simple pleasures and found joy in playing bridge with friends, tending his garden, sailing on Geist Reservoir, and researching his family’s history. He enjoyed learning about those who came before him and preserving those stories for future generations. Above all, he treasured time spent with his children and grandchildren, sharing stories, celebrating milestones, and simply being together.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Eldo and Maxine Schoenherr, and his brother, Steven Schoenherr of San Diego, California.
He is survived by his wife, Debra; his daughter, Amy; his son, Scott, of Westfield; his stepsons, Ryan and Matthew, of Virginia; his grandsons, Alex and Andrew; and his granddaughters, Avery, Riley, and Madelynn. He also leaves behind extended family members and many friends who will remember his kindness, spirit, and sense of humor.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Leppert Mortuary- Carmel Chapel, 900 N. Rangeline Road, Carmel, Indiana, on Saturday, July 25, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A private interment will take place on Friday, July 24, at Carmel Cemetery.
