I was so sad to see that Ellie passed away last week. She was such a great lady in every aspect of her life. She did so much for the care of those with breast cancer and for all those who benefitted from her sorority endeavors.
We used to talk about many things when she came in for treatment for her Lymphedema. Once she was relating some experience she had when her daughter bought her a membership to an exercise center. She would laugh that she would never be able to do what she was asked to do, but she persevered and made many gains and changed her abilities!
She loved all her family very much. She couldn't wait for "Cathy's kids" to come over after school, or the Out-of-towners to come to visit at the holidays.
Again, Ellie was a great lady and will be sorely missed.

I was one of Miss Ellie's overnight caregivers; one night she woke up and asked:
Ellie: what time is it?
Me: it's past midnight Miss Ellie.
Ellie: but where is everybody?
Me: oh they're all in bed, asleep. (You know because it's night time.)
Ellie: yes, everybody but you is asleep.
Me: hahaha but Miss Ellie you know I can't go to sleep if you're up, what if you need me?
Ellie: you mean if I go to sleep you'll go to sleep?
Me: that's the idea Miss Ellie, I want you to have a good rest.
Ellie: liar!
Me: hahaha how would you know I'm lying?
Ellie: you're just trying to trick me.
Me: hahaha oh miss Ellie. So did it work?

She closed her eyes and was asleep in no time. That was the most she's ever said to me in the times I worked with her, and it was my most memorable night with her. She was funny and would sometimes say the unexpected. I will miss her. May her soul rest in peace. May her family find peace and consolation in this time of mourning. God bless you all.

What a beautiful video tribute for a beautiful woman. I have very fond memories of Aunt Ellie. She was such a kind and thoughtful person. May the memory of what a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend that she was console her family.

Prayers to all,
