

Gloria Gassman, age 86, of Carmel, Indiana passed away on her 65th wedding anniversary on Thursday, December 26, 2024. Gloria was born in Richmond, Virginia to Ray Trent Marr and Clyde Eugene Marr. Gloria graduated from the College of William & Mary as a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. After graduation, she moved to Indiana with her husband Dean Gassman. Gloria planted her roots in Carmel, Indiana, where she raised her children and found her church.
Since joining in 1960, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church was an integral part of Gloria’s life. She was a well known figure, volunteering at every opportunity, including coaching kickball. She was also a volunteer for Right to Life of Indiana. She enjoyed playing cards and games–especially bridge. Her true loves were spending time with her family and her annual trips to the beach. Gloria loved her family deeply and in turn was loved deeply by her family.
Gloria is survived by her husband, Dean C. Gassman; her daughter Terri Van Winkle (Greg); her son Michael Gassman (Kim); her daughter Kathy Hubert (Kurt); and her son David Gassman (Beth); her sister Robin Moore (George) of Richmond, Virginia. She is also survived by grandchildren Gregory, Christopher, Kelley, John, Bea, Trent, Will, Shannon, David, Paul, Mark, Emma, Matthew, Dean and Mary; and great grandchildren Shane, Evelyn, James, Isabel and Arthur.
Visitation for Gloria will be held Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 14598 Oak Ridge Rd., Carmel, Indiana 46032, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM.
