

Gregory John Weber, 78, of Westfield, Indiana, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born on June 11, 1946 in Rochester, New York, Greg lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, and a strong commitment to his faith, family, and community.
Greg grew up in Indianapolis and graduated from St. Joan of Arc grade school and Cathedral High School. He earned degrees from Indiana State University, where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, Butler University (MBA), and the Stonier School of Banking.
Greg served his country honorably as a Captain in the U.S. Army, 101st Airborne Division, earning commendations for his valor and meritorious service during the Vietnam War, followed by continued service in the Indiana National Guard. He then had a 34-year career in banking, beginning at Indiana National Bank (now J.P. Morgan Chase), retiring as Senior Vice President of Investment Advisory Services. He was an adjunct professor in Economics at Butler University and the University of Indianapolis, mentoring many students pursuing a career in banking and finance.
Greg was active in the community serving on Catholic Social Services Board, the Indianapolis Rotary Club, the National Banking Advisors, and the Indianapolis Athletic Club. He served on the Mission Advisory Board for the Sisters of St. Francis, Oldenburg, served as the Chair of the St. Joan of Arc Parish Finance Council, and as Treasurer of the Rotary Foundation. He was a volunteer for St. Vincent de Paul and the 500 Festival Children’s Festival.
Greg is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Ursula Weber, his brother Christopher, and his sisters JoAnn Baker and Katherine Landis. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Susan, their three daughters: Melissa Weber of Paris, France; Annemarie (Michael) Roane of Evanston, IL; and Katherine Weber of Chicago; his brothers Douglas (Robyn), Michael (Susan), many nieces and nephews, and lifelong friends. He was a proud grandfather to Andrew Bennett and Spencer Roane, who brought him immense joy.
Throughout his life, Greg enjoyed traveling, marathon running with Indy Runners, golf, and cheering on the Colts and White Sox. His family and friends will remember him as a man who treasured his family and exemplified kindness, generosity, and devotion. Greg was a member of St. Maria Goretti Parish, Westfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at his boyhood parish, St. Joan of Arc (4217 Central Ave.) on Wednesday, January 22nd at 12:30 pm with visitation there beginning at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Greg’ name to the Sisters of Providence of St. Mary-of-the-Woods, the Sisters of St. Francis of Oldenburg, Indiana, or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
