Guy W. Able Jr.

95, of Carmel, departed this life Thursday, January 23, 2020 in Carmel. He was born October 12, 1924 in Indianapolis to the late Guy W. and Freda (Steel) Able, Sr. Guy proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II in the European Theatre. He had worked for Citizens Gas and Coke Utility and owned Able’s Welding, retiring in 1986. Guy was proud of his service to his country and was a member of Carmel American Legion Post #155, Carmel VFW Post #10003 and formerly, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #540. Guy enjoyed helping others and volunteered for nine years at St. Vincent Hospice in retirement. He is survived by his daughters, Christine M. (Roger) Dillon and Sharon Lynn (Chantilla) White and nine grandchildren. Guy was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Able and siblings, Bettylou Meyer and David Able. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am and conclude at time of funeral services at 12:00pm on Monday, January 27th at Leppert Mortuary – Smith Carmel Chapel. Interment follows at Carmel Cemetery.
