Joan Mary Puhl

She attended Barat College of the Sacred Heart in Lake Forest, Illinois; subsequently residing in Indianapolis and Carmel, Indiana. Her career spanned over 45 years, working for Guarantee Auto, Woods Wire and Atkins Desserts in various accounting positions.

Joan is preceded in death by her father, John, and survived by her mother, Lyvonne, sisters Mary (Larry) McReynolds, Judy (Greg) Arnold, Virginia (Parker) Speer, and brothers John (Becky) Puhl and Richard (Toni) Puhl.

Beloved daughter, sister, aunt and great aunt and friend, Joan loved to spend time with family and friends. She was a great conversationalist, well read and witty, but most importantly very thoughtful and caring about everyone else’s needs. She was fun to be with because of her love for adventure and was an inspiration to all of us because of her courage and fortitude.

Joan was a devout Catholic and a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and a member of the Secular Franciscan Order.

She was an avid Cubs fan and a lover of animals, owning and caring for three Arabian horses and 11 dachshunds in her lifetime!

Joan had the most wonderful friends, including her two “besties” of over 50 years, Anne and Linda.

We would like to thank the wonderful staff at Community North Hospital for taking such good care of Joan during her stay there.
