John Conde Cadwallader

Born on August 31, 1941, in Oak Park, Illinois, John was the son of the late John Julian and Dolores (DeWolfe) Cadwallader. The loss of his father aboard the USS Indianapolis was a defining moment in his young life.

John graduated from Northern Illinois University and went on to build a long and successful career in sales.

A man of varied interests, John loved both opera and country music, but his greatest joy was found on the golf course. A proud Chicago native, he treasured his time at Wrigley Field cheering on his beloved Cubs.

In addition to his parents, John is also preceded in death by his step-father, Lars Wiedermann.

John is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Donna (Hamer) Cadwallader; his children, John Cadwallader, Carrie (Steve) Rivers, and Katie (Jommel) Gozon; his cherished grandchildren, Jack Combs, Libby Cadwallader, and Tyler Rivers; his sister, Donna Hyland and three nieces.

Visitation for John will be from 1-2 PM on Saturday, December 13th at Leppert Mortuary – Carmel Chapel. A celebration of life follows at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested in John’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association or to The American Cancer Society.
