John was someone who enjoyed staying active, working with his hands, and pursuing the many interests that became part of his life. Whether he was fishing, kayaking, working on cars, or spending time around a racetrack, John was happiest when he was doing something he enjoyed.
Motorsports held a special place in John’s life. Over the years, he participated as a pit crew member for several racing teams, both professionally and as a hobby. His mechanical ability and love of racing allowed him to be part of a community and sport that meant a great deal to him.
John proudly served his country as a member of the Indiana Army National Guard. His talent for working with his hands was also reflected throughout his career. He worked as a welder and welding instructor, as well as an auto mechanic. For the last 20 years of his career, John was the manager of XPress Pro Tire & Auto in Westfield, formerly known as CarX. Through his many years there, he came to know and work alongside countless customers, coworkers, and friends.
John had an adventurous side and enjoyed experiencing life. Fishing and kayaking were favorite pastimes, along with trips to Florida, geocaching, BMX biking, snow skiing, and many other activities. Some of his most meaningful adventures were those he shared with his sons, creating memories that remained an important part of his life.
John is survived by his mother, Barbara (Max) Davis; his brothers, Leslie (Cindy) Neibold and Tony (Karen) Neibold; his son, Will Neibold; his niece, Sarah (Ben) Vandivier; his nephew, Anthony Neibold; and his stepmother, Diane Neibold.
He was preceded in death by his father, Will Neibold, and his son, Ben Neibold.
John’s life was filled with hard work, adventure, mechanical talent, racing, and a willingness to try something new. Those who knew him will remember the experiences they shared with him, the stories that came from those experiences, and the many ways John left his mark on the people and places that were part of his life.
May the memories of John—and of the adventures, laughter, work, and time spent together—bring comfort to those who knew and loved him.
