

Katharine was born on January 24, 1928, in Chicago, Cook County, IL, to the late Frank and Kathyrn (Jeffrey) Winter and resided in Indianapolis, IN. Katharine was a graduate of Butler University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, and a master’s degree from Indiana University in library science. She enjoyed gardening, dance, art classes, and traveling to new places. However, her greatest passion in life was caring for her family. Kay was devoted to her husband, William R. Henneberry for over 71 years and they raised eleven children together.
Katharine is survived by her husband, William R. Henneberry; her children: Linda Freel, Barbara Stouder, William (Laura) Henneberry, Katharine (Wes) Hunt, Diana Gray, Christine Prescott, Patricia (Thomas) Grannan, Mary (Tedd) Rowinski, Laura (James) Mondel, Thomas (Lisa) Henneberry); 26 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Kathyrn Winter; brothers, Jack (Eleanor) Winter and Frank Winter; daughter, Janice Taylor; sons-in-law, David Stouder, Rod Freel, Richard Taylor, and Thomas Gray; and great-grandson, Nicholas Taylor.
Visitation for Katharine will begin at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 8th at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and conclude at time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am.
