Keith O'Bryan MILES

September 19, 1965September 26, 2021

Keith O’Bryan Miles passed away at 8:31 am on September 26th 2021, at the age of 56. Keith was born in Pennington Gap, VA in 1965 on September 19th to Shelby and Nancy Miles.

Keith is survived by his wife of 24 years Lillian Miles. He is lovingly remembered by son Shelby (Lindsey)Miles, son (guardian to) Cameron Chavis, stepsons Shannon (Arin) Mickels, James Chavis, Jr., and Christopher Chavis. Also, 9 grandkids: Arianna, Amyrah, Aubrey, Christian, Henry, Jackson, Jaxson, Shaylee, Shelby Jean, and a whole host of relatives and friends.

“For you are like a mist that appears for a little while then disappears” James 4:14 Keith was taken away from us way too soon, battling cancer way too long. He was determined to kick its butt and he put up a good fight to the very end. I would like you to know there could not have been a better husband or father! His family and I would also like you to know he was the most patient, caring, understanding person we know. He was selfless and didn’t know the word “no” not even with strangers; he was always jumping in to fill a need even without asking. You know your loved one touched so many when no one ever had a bad thing to say about them.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude and appreciation to all those that helped take care of him. In Lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society, in loving memory of Keith. To leave a condolence or fond memory for the family, please visit:

Revelation 21:4 says, “and he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither mourning nor outcry nor pain anymore,” we are praying for that time.

Keith was the kindest person I know. He was a great husband, friend, father and brother-in-law. I live in another city but if I needed anything done, Keith would tell my sister (Lillian) lets go, your sister needs us. He never complained, even when he was in pain he would still take care of his family. I look forward to seeing him in Paradise. Rev 21:3,4. Love you Keith

Our thoughts are with you and the family as you get through these difficult days ahead ❤. Keith was not just a friend he was family. I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to spend time with Rick and Keith no more than a month ago... we had such a good time at lunch, playing golf and just chatting. We will cherish all of our memories until we see him again.

I knew we’d miss you and it would feel like a hole in our hearts but it hurts more than words could ever express! Not only with the larger things but the small things! You’re not here to share our morning coffee, no one to fight with over what we’ll watch, no one to make junk food runs with at 2-3am and the list goes on! You were the best thing that happened to us and we’re glad we had this journey together but We can take comfort in knowing it’s not over and we’ll see you again! ❤️ PS-you left the keys in the ignition (so you) Loving you still and missing you with all our hearts!!!

Keith, I cried the day you sent the mass text to us all. You were always such a great part of my work day. You laugh when I walked into the corner of the wall. And then immediately asked if I was OK while I myself was cracking up. We were always cracking jokes at each other. You also taught me so much.. I am so honored to have met you and worked with you.
