

Leona Lawhorn Greer, at a young-at-heart age of 82 years, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on June 20, 2025. She was born in Mineral Springs, Virginia on March 30, 1943. She made her home in Indiana, moving to the state with her husband, Roger, in 1968. She worked at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, for more than 40 years in X-ray, Cardiology and Imaging and in Cash Management. She also held a second job as a medical transcriptionist for several years.
Leona was a talented seamstress, cake decorator, and a fabulous Southern cook whose potato salad was always a hit at parties. A friend to all animals, she took great delight in feeding small wild animals and backyard birds, year-round. She had a wide range of interests and enjoyed learning new things by way of reading books on a variety of topics.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Roger Greer, her mother Uldine Flowers and her brother Michael Flowers.
She is survived by her sister Kathleen Crawford, her brother Lewis Flowers, her children Sabrina Greer and Sean Greer and her beloved dogs, Obe and Chappie.
A wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend, she had a strong will and a resilient spirit, but a kind and gentle soul. She will be missed.
