Marc Krieg, age 54, of Carmel, Indiana passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2021. Marc was born January 30, 1967 in Owensboro, Kentucky to Bobbie Jean Krieg and Larry Krieg.

Marc worked for 24 years at Eli Lilly. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church where his love for coaching his sons’ football and baseball teams began. When his sons’ played football at Westfield high school he continued to be their biggest fan, never missing a game. Marc was always happiest with his family, enjoying the simple things in life. His favorites were Sunday dinners with everyone home and walking their dog, Carly, in the evenings. To the people that knew him he was a man of many words and stories and a surprising encyclopedia of rock and roll history.

Marc is survived by his wife, Debbie Krieg; his son Nick Krieg (Kristin); his son Zach Krieg (Amy); and his son Ross Krieg; his father Larry Krieg and his mother Bobbie Jean Krieg; his brother Mike Krieg (Barbara), his brother Mitch Krieg (Natalie) and his sister Carrie Krieg (Kevin Bockhold).

I am so saddened and heartbroken. I had the privilege of working with Marc for many years as a Lilly partner. He was so kind, professional and skilled. He led by example and always treated everyone with dignity and grace. Rest in Peace and may God comfort his family during this time of loss.

I don’t have words. Had tears in my Eyes as several others. I would like to say he knows what empathy is about and not sympathy. There’s a difference. Thanks Marc !!

I worked just a short time with Mark on the Elanco Novartis project, although he was quiet my encounters with him during this project was always pleasant and he was a super nice man. He always shared a smile and kindness when you interacted with him. My condolences and deepest sympathy on to your family for losing such a nice man at such a young age.

I directly reported to Marc for past 7 years. Last spoke to him about 10 days back. He never showed his sufferings and always very enthusiastic and passionate about his job. He always talked about his 3 sons and wife. He has helped me so much in my carrier and during difficult times. I feel like loosing my elder brother. He was always very calm, compassionate, very focused and a visionary. He is very hardworking and dedicated. There are no words to express the sorrow this brings to all of us. May God give the strength to his family during these tough times.

My heart goes out to the Krieg family at this time. I did not know Marc personally; however, I have gotten to know his wife Deb over the past couple of years by seeing her beautiful face at the gym almost every day. I hope you all find peace in knowing Marc is so very proud of his beautiful family and he is with you always. I’m so sorry for this incredible loss. Love you Dana
