Obituary of Marilyn Louise Niehaus
Marilyn Louise Niehaus, 91, of Carmel, Indiana departed this life Thursday, March 14, 2024. Marilyn was born June 1, 1932 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Joseph and Naomi Louise Tomasovic. Marilyn was a proud varsity cheerleader and graduate of Lawrence Central High School in 1950 and subsequently set up a scholarship in her name for students who are pursuing a Nursing degree. Marilyn married the love of her life, Bill, in 1961 and they were married for 43 years before he passed away in 20004. She began her work at the Log Cabin Restaurant, but more importantly founded and operated, with Bill, Niehaus Inc. Marilyn was a driven and giving soul who was happiest while traveling the world with Bill, and making memories with her family and friends. She was a charter member of Crooked Stick Golf Club and enjoyed playing golf both at Crooked Stick and Oro Valley, AZ, where they had a winter home for years. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Niehaus, her sisters, Carol Lee Furry and Judi Stevens, and her daughter Suzi (Niehaus) Sanger. Marilyn is survived by her dear daughter, Kay (Dick) Bates; grateful grandchildren, Don (Michelle) Sanger, George Sanger and William Sanger; devoted nieces and nephews, Andrea (Mike) Steinmuller, Stephen (Leila) Furry, Ron Furry, and Kimberly (David) Gilyan and their children. A memorial visitation for Marilyn will begin at 1:00pm on Saturday, April 20th at Leppert Mortuary – Carmel Chapel and conclude at time of memorial service at 2:00pm. Inurnment follows at Carmel Cemetery.
