

Mary Ann Baldini (Thomas) passed away in Carmel, IN on August 23, 2025 at the age of 83. She was born on June 19, 1942 in Chicago, IL. Mary Ann grew up attending Catholic schools and graduated from Loyola University with her nursing degree in 1964.
Mary Ann grew up with her cousins, Judy, Joanne, John and Mary Frances, in the same house in Chicago, IL with their grandparents who immigrated from Poland. Summers were spent together in Round Lake, IL.
Mary Ann was married to Louis Robert Baldini for almost 30 years. They had three children, Maria, Michael, and Daniel.
As a registered nurse, Mary Ann worked in hospitals in Chicago, IL and then became a homemaker to raise her children. In 1979, the family moved to Carmel, IN. In the mid-1980s, she returned to caring for patients in nursing home facilities in the Carmel and Indianapolis areas until she retired. After retirement, she volunteered as a respite caregiver.
A faithful Catholic, Mary Ann was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church (OLMC) from 1979 and also attended services at St. Elizabeth Seton Church. She volunteered at OLMC for several years.
An avid reader of Agatha Christie and other authors, Mary Ann tutored elementary school children, helping them to improve their reading skills. She loved listening to classical music and sitting outside on her porch, listening to the birds, squirrels, and other creatures. She supported her children as each participated in Scouting through high school and beyond.
In the prior age of corded telephones, Mary Ann spent hours on the phone with her friends Marilyn (Rich) and Michelle (Chester). In Carmel, Mary Ann, Liz (Lee), and Trudie (John) had long visits and lunches together and then calls as they grew older. She spent many visits and chats with her neighbors Sandra and Dave. Time with her cousins was also a focal point in her later years.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Helen Thomas, and her brother, James Thomas. She is survived by her daughter Maria and granddaughter Christine; her son Michael (Linda) and grandchildren Nicholas and Andrew; and her son Daniel (Kimberly) and grandchildren Matthew, John, and Lexi.
Her last wishes are: Remember me with love in your hearts and joy in your memories with prayers for peace in the hearts and minds of all humankind.
Visitation for Mary will be held Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 14598 Oak Ridge Rd, Carmel, IN 46032, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, Mary Ann requested that donations be made to the charity of one's choice in her name. Suggested charities are: Girl Scouts of Central Indiana (www.girlscoutsindiana.org/en/support-us/donate-locally.html) and the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org).
