Michael Alan Gregory, 47, of Carmel, Indiana, departed this life on Friday, February 2, 2024. Mike was born in September 1976 in Blue Island, Illinois to the late Alan Walter Gregory and Barbara Ann (Walsh) Gregory. He grew up and attended schools in Blue Island and was a graduate of Dwight D. Eisenhower High School.
Mike had worked at the Chicago Board of Options as a Trader Clerk and was an account manager for Hittle Landscaping. He was happiest, though, enriching his family as a full time devoted father to his twins and being a wonderful loving husband to his wife Jennifer. Mike was a kind and generous soul who always put his family and friends first. He had never met a stranger and appreciated learning the life stories of others. Mike gave his time and energy freely and lovingly to others including one such cause that was close to his heart – volunteering to build homes for the less fortunate in the Dominican Republic with Youth with a Mission and Homes of Hope International.
Mike was an accomplished baseball player, starting his illustrious baseball career at Shrei field in Blue Island, pitching and playing shortstop as he continued working his way to the minor leagues as a young adult. He also honed his golf skills on a regular basis, achieving a high degree of amateur achievement on the links. He was a fantastic baseball coach for his twins and supported them in all of their endeavors, sporting, academic and otherwise.
In addition to his parents, Mike was also preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Mike is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Jennifer Gregory; devoted children, Lucas Gregory and Samantha Gregory; loving sisters, Jennifer Rodriguez and her husband Tom Rodriguez and her stepson Thomas Rodriguez, Carrie Gregory and her daughters Rylee Moar and Parker Haak and her fiancée Michael Haak and his sons Kieran Haak and Grayson Haak, Sarah Gregory and her husband Patrick Barry and their son George Barry; and aunts, uncles, many cousins and dear friends.
