Milo Arthur Thompson

Milo Arthur Thompson passed at age 94 on October 6, 2021. Milo was born January 19, 1927 in Decorah, Iowa and was the youngest child of Torger and Clara Thompson. Milo served in the Army Air Force in WWII and was wounded in the Philippines in 1945. After his military service, he attended Luther College and then went on to a career in Personnel Management with several federal agencies.

Milo is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Jean Thompson, brother Stan and sisters, Doris and Polly. Milo is survived by his only child, Jud Thompson (wife Kara) and grandchildren Jack 26, Luke 22, Nick 20, and Grace 14.

Milo was a 50 year resident of Carmel, living 45 years in Brookshire. Milo’s passion was golf. He was a member at Fox Prairie Golf Club and a proud member of the Fox Prairie Senior Men’s Group.

An event to celebrate his memory will take place Thursday, October 14 at 5:30 at Twin Lakes Golf Club in Carmel on the back patio. Golf attire is encouraged, the brighter the colors the better. Food and beverage will be provided. A “Final Tee-Shot” will be struck by all those interested in participating so bring your driver.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in honor of Milo Thompson to the following organization:

First Tee-Indiana, a program of the Indiana Golf Foundation at Checks can be mailed to Indiana Golf Foundation PO Box 26159 Indianapolis, IN 46226. Donations will support First Tee-Indiana, which is a youth development program teaching life lessons and core values through the game of golf.

I always liked to see Milo at the Veteran's Day Celebration at Towne Meadow Elem. You all took very good care of Milo. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
