

Roy Kenneth (Ken) Barr, age 90, of Fishers, Indiana passed away on July 11, 2025, with his family by his side. Ken was born on August 2, 1934, in El Paso, Texas to Roy Harold and Gladys (Lee) Barr. A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, he is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sylvia (Cox), son Wayne, granddaughter Laura Barr, sister Peggy Hixson, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Margo Lee Barr and brother Robert Harold Barr. Ken graduated from Sheldon High School, Sheldon, Missouri. He completed his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Missouri (1957), and his Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering (1960) from University of Missouri. Ken served in the US Army where he graduated and taught at the Army Officer Academy. He was discharged with the final rank of 1st Lieutenant.
Ken retired as a component engineer for RCA - Thomson Consumer Electronics, Indianapolis. During his time at RCA, he traveled internationally and was fluent in three languages. Ken was a member of the central Indiana chapter of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineer (IEEE). Ken's retirement years were spent in Florida during the winter months and traveling around the world. His summer months were spent in Michigan on the shores of Lake Huron where he enjoyed family, fishing, reading, wildlife, cooking, and the neighbors he met over forty years. Ken was an active member of First Meridian Heights Presbyterian Church and in his later years, St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.
A family Celebration of Life service and burial was held at Eagle Creek Cemetery, Westfield, Indiana.
