83, of Noblesville, formerly of Fort Wayne died Tuesday, January 8, 2019. Shirley was born September 14, 1935 on the family farm in Churubusco, IN, to the late Kenneth and LaVon (Allman) Felger. She was a registered nurse for over 40 years, working for the American Red Cross for 35 years. Shirley proudly served her country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War as a nurse in Oakland, California. She vividly remembered the many wounded soldiers she cared for there. She was a member of Trinity English Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne, and was always a willing volunteer to help those in need. Shirley was given the name “Grr” by her grandchildren, and affectionately became known as “Grr” to all who knew her. Shirley was happiest making memories with her family and travelling the globe.
She is survived by her loving children, Nancy Robinson, Noblesville, and Tim (Lindsay) Robinson, Crofton, Maryland; her beloved grandchildren Sydney and Cannen Harris, Micah and Alexa Robinson, David and Mollie Robinson, and Jimmy Robinson, as well as her siblings, Linda (Leonard) Gaff of Huntertown, Allan Felger, Kenneth “Bud” (Gladys) Felger, Ron (Rhonda)Felger, and Don (Fran) Felger, all of Churubusco. Shirley was preceded in death by her stepsons, George and Jim Robinson and sister-in-law, Marolyn Felger. A memorial service for Shirley will be announced at a later date.
