Stephen Ermel

Stephen Howard Ermel, born October 28th, 1944 in Columbus OH, passed from this life on January 24th, 2021 at the age of 76 in Carmel, IN. He was born to Howard and Ruth Ermel. He was married to Janis Elaine Ermel from February 2nd, 1974 to January 1st, 2002. Janis preceded Steve in death in 2002. More recently, Steve has had a dear and close friend Gretchen Jarrett for 15 years. He is survived by his sister, Linda Miller, and his two sons and their families: Aaron, 40, who is married to Jeannette Cosio-Ermel, Ryan, 38, married to Christine Ermel and their two daughters, Sydney and Heidi. Having earned his MBA from Indiana University, Steve was intelligent, educated and motivated. He was generally a quiet man, but Steve had many interests including flying, scuba diving, running mini-marathons and racing. Behind each one of these activities, there was always an entertaining story. He was a man who could make friends wherever he went and was loved by all. He will be dearly missed by his friends and family. Visitation will be held at Leppert Mortuary – Carmel Chapel, 900 N. Rangeline Rd., Carmel, Indiana on Sunday January 31st, 2021 from 2-5pm.
