82, of Carmel, departed this life on Friday, August 8, 2025 at her home of 60 years. Susan was born February 27, 1943 in Alexandria, Indiana to the late William G. & Kathleen (Cassel) Worley. She met the love of her life, Richard Perry, while still a student at North Central High School. He was a few years older than she and he impressed her by picking her up after school in his cool 1957 Chevy. They married and raised three children together and lived happily for 58 years until he passed away in 2020. In addition to raising her children and providing a loving home, Susan also worked in the pharmaceutical industry in distribution control.
Susan was a kind and gentle soul who was happiest making memories with her loving family. She and Richard loved taking Sunday drives to revisit places she had known in her childhood, specifically Columbus and Alexandria. Longer trips with the family included a memorable adventure to Hilton Head. In retirement, she and Richard enjoyed trips to the lakeshores of Michigan and their favorite trip to the Dakotas. When at home, she relaxed by watching Turner Classic Movies with a bowl of Graeter’s ice cream nearby. She will be remembered by everyone lucky enough to sample her famous, incredibly delicious, devilled eggs – they were second to none!
In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Leon Perry and brother, Patrick Worley.
Susan is survived by her devoted children Michael (Teresa) Perry, Steve Perry and Malinda Taylor; grateful grandchildren, Angie (Ursula) Walls, Anthony (Yomna Badawi) Perry and Chloe (Blake) Jensen; beloved great granddaughters, Haven & Harbor Walls; dear siblings, Karen (Bob) Brettnacher, Lana Lemen, Charles (Brenda) Worley & Christopher Worley and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Susan’s Life will be announced at a later date. Susan will be laid to rest at a private inurnment to take place at the Carmel Cemetery.
