

He was born on July 21, 1927 in Chicago, Cook County, IL, to the late John Joseph and Elizabeth Dorothy (Reid) Henneberry. William was a veteran in WWII in the U.S. Naval Armed Services. He enjoyed singing, playing the piano, reading and working with his hands on a number of projects. Bill supported many community foundations over the years including Rotary international, Boys & Girls Club of America, Central Indiana Cursillo, and the Prevention of Blindness. However, his greatest passion in life was caring for his family.
William is survived by his children, Linda Freel, Barbara Stouder, William (Laura) Henneberry Jr., Katharine (Wes) Hunt, Diana Gray, Christine Prescott, Patricia (Tom) Grannan, Mary (Tedd) Rowinski, Laura (Jim) Mondel and Thomas (Lisa) Henneberry; 28 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Katharine W. Henneberry; brother, John L. (Mildred) Henneberry and sister Jeanne (Fred) McKenna ; daughter, Janice Taylor; Son-in Laws, Rod Freel, Dick Taylor, Thomas Gray and David Stouder; Great Grandson, Nicholas Taylor.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 18, 2025 from 10:00am – 11:30am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Indianapolis, IN–with funeral services immediately following at 11:30am. Burial will take place at Bellefontaine Cemetery in St. Louis, MO at a later date.
