Age 81, passed away on March 11, 2011 in Tyler, TX. Born on September 16, 1929 to W.C. and Gladys Benedict in Dallas, TX. Betty is survived by her loving husband of 21 years, Howard Chase; grandchildren, Lisa Whaley of Los Angeles, CA, Jason Whaley and wife Lisa of Martins Mill, TX, Amy Presley of Tyler, TX; stepchildren; Christi Montgomery of Georgetown, TX and Clay Chase of Austin, TX; brother, Bill Benedict; 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Chase is preceded in death by her daughter, Glenda Ann McFadden and brothers, Benny and Bobby Benedict. Betty was a world traveler and widely known for her kind, compassionate spirit and unyielding generosity. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2011 from 2 – 4 pm at Rhoton Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, March 14, 2011, at 1 pm. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas.
