Bobby Drake

Bobby Barto Drake, passed away January 11, 2021 in Dallas, TX. He was born February 24, 1938 in Henderson, Texas to the late Henry and Mary Drake. Bobby was a devoted Christian and a member of The Branch Church, in Farmers Branch, Tx. He served our Country in the US Army, and received an honorable discharge. He was a lifetime barber and a very hard working man. He was an avid poker player, he loved football, taking cruises and golfing, especially with his good friend Charley Pride, whom he was with, when he hit a hole in one.

He was predeceased by his parents; wife of 55 years, Jean Williams Drake;

3 sisters, Sandy Drake, Fay Wellborn & Nancy Drake; and brother, Jackie Drake.

Bobby is survived by daughter, Shannon Drake of Carrollton, Tx; brother, Sammy Joe Drake; 2 sisters, Norma Jean Sneden & Shirley Ann Shank, along with several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Bobby will be buried beside his beloved wife, Jean, in a private service at Langford Cemetery in Evant, TX. Brother Eddy Ketchersid will officiate.

Family Chain

We little knew that morning

God was to call your name.

In life we loved you dearly,

In death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you,

You did not go alone.

For part of us went with you,

The day God called you home.

You left us beautiful memories,

Your love is still our guide,

And though we cannot see you,

You are always at our side.

Remember Me

Fill not your hearts with pain and sorrow,

Although my leaving causes pain and grief,

my going has eased my hurt,

and given me relief.

So dry your eyes and remember me,

not as I am now, but as I used to be.

Because, I will remember you all,

and look on with a smile.

Understand in your hearts,

I’ve only gone to rest a little while.

As long as I have the love of each of you,

I can live my life in the hearts of all of you.
