Bobby Joe Walker

Bobby served in the United States Army for 3 years before his honorable discharge in May 1956. While in the army he married the love of his life, Mattie Wiggs, in May 1954 and the two were married for 70 years.

Bobby worked as a lineman for Twin County Electric in Mississippi for 20 years before becoming a truck driver for LD Brinkman where he worked an additional 20 before retiring. In his spare time Bobby enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, and doing any and everything he could for his grandchildren.

Bobby is preceded in passing by his parents; Pettie and Annie Walker, sisters; Phyllis and Betty Jo, brother; Milton, son; Jason, daughter; Wanda Lynn and grandson; Scott Hampton.

He is survived by his wife; Mattie Pearl Walker, children; Donald Joe (Nancy), Ronald (Netta), and Gary (Carolyn), son-in-law; Scott, grandchildren; Brandon, Geina (Wade), Courtney (H.D.), Mandie (Derek), Briana (Hunter), Clarissa (Ally), Vanessa (Chad), Anna (Eric). He is also survived by his great grandchildren; Hayden, Brylee, Sophie, Sydney, Joey, Xander, Cooper, Blake, Conner, Rayleigh,Oaklynn, Lane, Erica (Chris), Annea (Clinton), Karlan, Jaci, Jenna, and Alison.

A visitation for Bobby will be held Thursday, September 19, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Bethel Baptist Church, 8382 Co Rd 128, Celina, TX 75009. A funeral service will occur Thursday, September 19, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 8382 Co Rd 128, Celina, TX 75009. A committal service will occur Thursday, September 19, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Restland Funeral Home, Cemetery & Crematory, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75243.
