He lived in Beaumont from 1957-1969 and then moved to Mesquite where he graduated from North Mesquite High School in 1975.
He earned his bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1980.
In 1994, he founded Statement Systems, Inc. and continued to lead the company with his innovative vision and knack for problem solving until his passing. Chris cherished his company family and built a work environment filled with love and respect.
Chris married Gillian Fay Cocks on May 13, 1989 and they were together for 34 years. Gillian and Chris raised their children, Tyler Christean and Breanna Nicole.
Chris was a loving and dedicated father and spouse. He brought humor, creativity, patience, and compassion to his family, business, and community. He served as a Boy Scout Leader for Troop 574, Creekview Band Booster Parent, and supportive Dance Dad. He was admired and loved dearly by all those who were touched by his giving nature and kind heart.
His spirit continues to live through his wife Gillian; son Tyler; daughter Breanna; siblings William Dean Mitchell, Mark Wallace Mitchell and his wife Gloria, and Frances Sulea "Sue" Schreiber and her husband David; nieces Amy Welch, Emilie Campbell and her husband Eric, Sarah Mitchell, and Katherine "Katie" Schreiber; great nieces and nephews, Rachel Welch, Mahala Campbell, Mykelti Campbell; cousins, Kevin Tancey and his wife Janice, Samuel "Sam" Johnson and his wife Jodi, Timothy Johnson and his wife Heather, Mattie Grace Riggs and her husband Ruel, and Cindy Beall and her husband Buddy.
A funeral service for Chris will take place at 5:00p.m., Monday, June 27, 2022, at Holy Covenant United Methodist Church, 1901 E. Peters Colony Rd, Carrollton, Tx 75007. Following the service, Chris will be laid to rest at Furneaux Cemetery in Carrollton, Texas. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the Mitchell Home following the ceremony.
