

Dale Curtis Howe, 56, of Carrollton died Tuesday evening, March 1st following an extended serious illness. Born in Lacrosse, Wisconsin, September 8, 1954, Dale was the son of Curtis and Mattie Finnigan Howe. He grew up on a farm in Rushford, MN and moved to Winona, MN where he graduated from High School.
Following his high school graduation, he entered the United States Navy October 26, 1972 and was discharged October 22, 1976, continuing to serve in the Naval Reserves until October 25, 1978. He married the love of his life, Karen Weilandt, September 16, 1972, in Winona.
Following his discharge from the Navy he attended Winona State University, earning an undergraduate degree in Industrial Education. He and Karen moved to Dallas in 1985 where he earned a Masters degree in Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary. He served as Pastor in Carrollton following his graduation and was an overseas missionary for three years. He also served churches in Nebraska, and was pastor for nine years in Winona, MN before returning to Carrollton in 2004. Dale was energetically involved in Leadership Training and was a mentor for the Professional Leadership Program (P.L.P) at the University of North Texas.
The church, his family and the contributions he made to national and international gatherings for the church and his legal profession were priorities, but his love in collecting and studying fossils was an avid interest as well.
Dale was preceded in death by his father and is survived by his mother, Mattie Howe, of Irmo, SC; his loving wife, Karen; his children, Matthew and Sharon Howe of Corinth, TX and Kristopher and Lisa Howe of Carrollton; three grandchildren, Daniel Kristopher, David Curtis and Isabella Katherine; three brothers, Wayne Howe of Winona, MN; John Howe and his wife Rachael of Phoenix, AZ and Carl Howe and his wife, also of Irmo, SC; and by a sister, Linda Wilson and her husband, Don of Mascoutah, Illinois.
Burial, with Military Honors, will be at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 10:15 a.m. Friday, March 4th, with a prayer service led by Craig Hensel. Memorial Services will follow at 12:00 Noon at the Ridge Church, 4561 N. Josey Lane, Carrollton. Pastor Jerry Witham will officiate.
