

Dolores was born April 20, 1940 in Omaha, Nebraska, and graduated from Temple High School in Temple Texas. She trained as a dental hygienist, volunteered with Family Service units at various US Air Force installations, served on the boards of Denton County Crime Stoppers and Carrollton Country Fair. Before retiring, she worked for Denton County Commissioner Sandy Jacobs.
Her children from her marriage to Sydney “Skip” Nims {1959-1994) brought her much joy. Dolores was passionate and plain-spoken about her beliefs. She had a quick smile, a beautiful singing voice, loved to read mystery romance novels, have an occasional glass of wine and eat oatmeal raisin cookies. She was a devoted wife and mother and fiercely loved her family and friends. She found even more joy after reconnecting with & falling in love with her old friend Franklin. They married in 2006 and enjoyed their common interest in reading and delight in visiting with families in Texas, Florida, Colorado, Georgia and Minnesota.
Dolores is survived by her children Kelly D. Rutherford, Kevin L. Nims, and Constance J. Nims; grandchildren Jon Martin, Eric Martin, Kara Thurston {Ben} and Brennan Nims; great grandson Rudy Thurston; and siblings Dean Conlan {Janette}, Rosemary Edwards, Richard Conlan {Pat} and Kenneth Conlan {Linda Strang}; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dolores was preceded in death by: her children Stephen Nims and Christine T. Nims; her husband of 35 years, Sydney “Skip” Nims; her parents Dorothy H. Broll and Henry F. Conlan; and her husband of 10 years Jimmie Franklin Farris.
