

Douglas Daryl Barlow, aged 65, passed away on December 23, 2025. Born on September 6, 1960, in Longview, Texas, Doug was the youngest of four children. He spent the majority of his childhood in the Houston area, attending North Shore High School before pursuing higher education at Baylor University in Waco. He later earned a Master's Degree in Business from the University of Houston - Clear Lake.
Doug was a devoted and beloved husband to Terri Barlow, and a compassionate and inspirational father to his sons, Daniel and Dustin Barlow. He is also survived by his sisters, Bridget Bryant (Freddie Bryant) and Denise Causey, and a large extended family, including his nephew, David Bryant (Stormie Bryant), great-niece Nettie Bryant, great-nephew Harrison Bryant, niece Stephanie Barnett (Don Barnett), great-nephew Duane Wright, niece Cara Causey and Summer Causey, brother-in-law David Willis (Betsy Willis), and sisters-in-law Shelly Rankin (Andy Rankin), and Sherry Linnen (Don Linnen). Doug was cherished by many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Throughout his career, Doug was known for his fairness and kindness as a manager. His most cherished professional role was at the Dallas Morning News, where he enjoyed the camaraderie and projects. Doug was adventurous and passionate about Baylor sports, and he was an avid fan of the football, basketball, and baseball programs. He was deeply interested in the accomplishments of his sons, traveling frequently to support them. Doug was also known for his thoughtful and humorous nature, often maintaining close friendships with those from his high school, college, work, and church communities.
In his personal life, Doug was a generous and kind-hearted individual who loved to plan trips and surprise his wife, Terri. He was an excellent organizer and had a great love for laughter, enjoying comedies and comedians. Doug was actively involved in his community, volunteering at church, teaching RA's, and participating in Junior Achievement and Habitat for Humanity.
Doug's legacy is that of a faithful follower of Jesus Christ, a loving husband, and a father who was loyal and fair. He was a man of few words, but his wisdom and selflessness were evident in his actions. Doug will be remembered for his ability to tell stories, care for others, and his well-timed wisecracks.
A visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church at The Field, located at 1401 Carrollton Pkwy, Carrollton, Texas, on January 19, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, followed by a memorial service at 10:00 am.
The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude for the prayers, support, and love they have received. Special thanks are extended to the staff at Baylor Scott & White, Plano, and Vitas Hospice in Carrollton for their exceptional care and compassion during Doug's final days.
Doug is with Jesus now, whole and free from pain. He loved you all very much.
