Edward Arthur Rohloff of Argyle, Texas passed away on January 6, 2013 at the age of 88. Ed was born on June 15, 1924 to Herman Edward Rohloff and Bertha Bunce Rohloff in Toledo, Ohio. He was drafted into the U.S. Army where he entered into Active Service on March 5, 1943. He served as a Machine Gunner in Company G 15th Infantry Regiment 3rd Division. He fought in World War II in Rhineland Central Europe and received The Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Medal, European - African - Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, 2 Bronze Stars, and the World War II Victory Medal before his honorable discharge on January 1, 1946. After serving in the U. S. Army, Ed returned to Toledo, Ohio where he worked for The State of Ohio's Toledo Area Sanitary District Mosquito Control until he retired after more than 40 years. After Ed retired, he and his wife Mary moved to Naples, Florida where they lived until they moved to Argyle, Texas in 2005. He was a Lifetime Member of VFW post #7721, American Legion Post #135 and Catholic War Veterans. Ed is survived by his wife Mary Margaret "Wilde" "Ocheske" Rohloff, his two daughters Mary Estella "Ocheske" Mocniak and Constance Lee "Ocheske" (David) Perry, his five grandchildren Paula Christine (Robert) Roe, William Thaddeus (Michelle) Mocniak, Pamela Ann (Tracy) Skaggs, Patricia Ann (Reid) Rossmann, and Matthew Alan (Amy) Mocniak, his ten great grandchildren Kristin Kriss, Christina Mocniak, Maelyn Mocniak, Zachary Rossmann, Mallory Rossmann, Ryan Boyer, William Mocniak, Taylor Skaggs, Madison Mocniak and Tyler Mocniak, two great great grandchildren Landon Saulters and Paisley Abrego and one nephew Tom Spaulding. Ed was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Bessie Sedlar Rohloff. A mass will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 9:00 A.M. at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church located at 1897 W. Main St., Lewisville, Texas 75067.
