Eric graduated from Newman Smith High School in 1985 and went on to earn a four-year degree as a precision welder. He spent more than 25 years working for Local 69, building a life around skilled hands and a sharp mind—drawn to any work that made him think and let him get his hands into it. He was, simply put, gifted at what he did, and smart enough to make it look easy.
Away from work, Eric enjoyed movies, fishing, and a cold beer—simple pleasures made better by good company and a well-timed joke. To those who knew him best, he was a true friend and a genuinely funny presence, the kind of person who could lighten a room without even trying. And yes, for anyone who ever got the look from those unmistakable eyes, he’ll be remembered with a grin as that “blue-eyed devil”—a title worn with charm and just enough trouble to keep things interesting.
Eric was blessed with three children, and his love for family ran deep through every chapter of his life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Barry Haynes, and his grandmother, Lee Rosenfeld.
He is survived by his mother, Billie Haynes-Noland; step-dad, Drew Noland; sisters, Kellie Lee Haynes and Sheryl Gibson; brother, Barry G. Haynes; children, Brentnie Haynes, Barry Haynes, and Kaylee Haynes; grandchildren, Stetson Haynes and Harmony Haynes; nephew, Ben Haynes and Micah Perez; nieces, Hayley Haynes, Valerie Kaulsky, Kristina Villarreal, Michelle Dennis, and Tara Mitchell; and godson, Grant Rosenfeld.
Eric’s legacy lives on in the laughter he left behind, the work he did with pride, and the steady reminder that being smart is great—but being funny while you’re at it is even better.
A Celebration of Life for Eric will take place on Sunday, October 4, 2026 from 11:00am - 1:00pm at Rhoton Funeral Home located at 1511 South I-35E Carrollton, TX 75006.
