

Franklin Newton, 79 of Corinth passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at Lake Village Nursing & Rehabilitation. He was born on December 23, 1930 in Denison, TX to Howard Newton and Juanita Howard. He married Edith L. Barrett at the Church of Christ in Lake Dallas, TX on October 23, 1953. Franklin was a Paint Department Supervisor for a Mfg. Company; he retired after 42 years of service. Franklin is survived by his wife Edith of Lewisville, TX; two sons, Doug Newton of Pilot Point, TX and Russell Newton of Carrollton, TX; four sisters, Joyce Norman and Geri Arispe both of Krum, TX, Neda Moore of Conroe, TX and Sandra Howard of Aubrey, TX; one brother, Jimmy L. Newton of Denton, TX; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Edward Newton; two sisters, Jo Brown and Betty Gossett. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm Friday, April 23, 2010 at Rhoton Funeral Home in Carrollton, TX. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, April 24, 2010 in the Chapel at Rhoton Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Swisher Cemetery in Lake Dallas, TX.
