Gabriele Margarethe Batchler

“Gabbie” was born as Gabriele Margarethe Sweeton on May 25, 1957 in Jugenheim, Germany. She is preceded in death by her father Claude E. Sweeton, Sr., and her grandparents. She is survived by her Mother, Gertrud Sweeton, her husband Dennis R. Batchler, her daughter and son in law, Michelle and Brent Chadwick, her brothers, Claude Jr. and Joe Sweeton, her sister and sister in law, Karen Sweeton and Corrinne Brownlee, her granddaughters, Shelbie, Lauren and Emily, as well as multiple aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. And her sweet little fur baby, Pretty. Dennis and Gabbie married later in life, which extended her family with her step daughter, Denise Batchler, stepson and his wife, Dean and Shannon Batchler and 2 step grandchildren, Zackary and Kali.

Anyone who knew or met Gabbie immediately knew her smile. It was something she shared freely and frequently; always sharing a story of her grandchildren whom she was so proud of and her road trips with Dennis. Her greatest joy in life was spending time and supporting the various activities of her three granddaughters! She was Cookie Oma, Room Oma at school, and their biggest fan! She also loved sharing her German culture as well, a master of baking; her Cheesecake and Torts became a requested staple at every family gathering! Gabbie had spent the last few years working to improve her personal health and was so excited about all she had achieved. Sadly, on the morning of November 20th, we lost our beloved Gabbie. While unexpected, we know she left this life, happy and feeling like she had accomplished so much and had so many blessings, she left feeling like a success. So while we will miss her and it is hard to imagine tomorrow without her smile and laughter, we will cherish the memories and look forward to the day we are all together again.

Family will receive friends Sunday, November 24, 2013 from 6-8 pm at Rhoton Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 25, 2013 at 11 am in the Chapel of Rhoton Funeral Home.
