George Ernest Johnston

George went to be with the Lord on May 16, 2017. He was born in Bernice, Louisiana to the Drew and Eula Johnston on December 23, 1925. His parents and only sister Mary preceded him in death.

After HS graduation, he proudly served our US Navy in the Pacific during World War II. When the war ended, he returned to Shreveport, La where he met and married the love of his life Josie Marie Pizzolato. They relocated to Dallas with Caterpillar Tractor Co. where he retired after 38 years. George and Josie would have celebrated their 64th anniversary on June 6th. He is survived by Josie, sons George Jr. (Lynne), Randy (Dot), Tim (Cindy), Christopher (Robin), and daughter Brenda Powers (Patrick). George was a longtime member of St Rita Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and Christian Community of Gods Delight. His legacy lives on with 21 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was a man of deep faith who was always the happiest when surrounded with family.
