Born on November 22, 1941 in Waxahachie, Texas - passed away on October 25, 2021 at the age of 79 from congestive heart failure. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Geneva. Grover was a doting father to Johanna Vines Olive of Gig Harbor, Washington and Jeremy Vines (Naomi) of Twin Falls, Idaho.
When Grover’s children moved across the country when they were teenagers, Grover began writing them a letter or more a week and continued that practice until the day he died.

He was the treasured grandpappa of Amanda and Mariah and the adoring great-grandfather to Dashawn, Dayvion, Raniah, Elijah, and Saniah.
Grover graduated from the University of North Texas in 1965. He served in the US Air Force Reserves from 1965-1971 with an 18 month tour of duty at McChord AFB. It was there that he developed his deep love for Mt Rainier and ferry rides.
Grover spent his early career as a sales rep for Hallmark Cards and his later career with Lennox Industries, in Richardson, Texas.
Grover was a long time fan of Amtrak and trains, arranging trips on the rails as often as he could in his retirement. He loved to take Geneva on sightseeing ‘geezer’ trips all over the country. He was an avid reader. His favorite book was Lonesome Dove, which combined his love of Westerns, Texas and Montana. His viewing will be at Rhoton Funeral Home in Carrollton, Texas, on his 80th birthday, November 22, 2021 from 6-9pm. Funeral at 10am, November 23 at Rhoton and Interment at Restland Cemetery in Dallas, Texas at 1:00.
