James Michael Braswell was born in Dallas, Texas on May 9, 1944 to parents John and Mary Braswell. He graduated from Crozier Tech High School and worked as a truck driver for several trucking companies such as Briggs Weaver, Merchants, and Bestway. James loved chatting with his family, and friends. He also enjoyed fishing, collecting model cars, religious angels and figurines, and traveling to various places with Disneyworld being his favorite. He was a girls/women’s softball coach for many years. After retiring James worked at Sandy Lake Amusement Park as the Easter Bunny, where he would pass out candy to all the children. His favorite holidays were Halloween and Christmas. James would hand out full size candy bars to the kids during Halloween and he would dress up as Santa Claus for Christmas. James is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Beth; children Brenda Perry, Glen Braswell, Ruth Sisson; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, sister Dora Mae Ramsey, and many other family members and friends. Visitation will be Thursday, December 12, 2019 from 6-8 pm at Rhoton Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 13, 2019 at 1:00 pm with burial to follow at Crown Hill Memorial Park.
