"Those we love remain with us for
love itself lives on, and cherished memories never fade
because a loved one's gone. Those we love can never be
more than a thought apart, for as long as there is a memory,
they'll live on in the heart." -Mary Alice Ramish

Even though I know James is in a much better place, his presence will truly be missed. I first met James several years ago along with his mom Violet at a Sunday morning Lakeway senior bible study. Even though James was much younger than the attendees, he participated along with Violet. At one point James became the leader for our bible studies. After the group stopped meeting, James continued to reach out to members making sure us seniors were doing ok. One of the ways he showed his Christian Love. I will miss our conversations. No matter what the circumstances, James never lost his faith. He was an inspiration to me, a true brother in Christ. I miss you James.
God please give James' family peace, comfort and a blanket of love during this time.

I have known James since the first grade at Danville Grade School. He was a great person that was always the center of attention wherever he went. I can not tell you how many games or the hours of football we played on the street in front of his house. He was a truly a great friend and a better person.

James was a terrific friend. A true friend who would give the shirt off his back for you. I have known James for over 34 years and looked up to him. James was a person who could bring people together, was a self starter and organizer in our small community of Danville with the NFL of Foto Football that made local and national news (Real People Show). We kids loved it, many, many good memories and gave us all something to do and stay busy. Football was his passion. We spoke often and he was so proud of his kids Cheri and Jimmy and cherished their relationship. Cheri not only looks alot like her Dad, but when he shares stories of her successes and ambition to succeed I see ALOT of James in her. High energy, can do anything. I will forever miss my dear friend. Such a shock and loss to all who knew him. Love ya Blue/Love ya James. I know my friend is in a much better place in a mansion prepared for him. God bless the Chafin family and his children. With my deepest sympathy.
