James William McCormick was born on January 19, 1959 in New York, New York to James McCormick and Clara Gamba (née Montes de Oca). James graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and went on to attend Mt. View College as a part of the Plumbers Apprenticeship Program. In life, James was a generous friend, a devoted plumber, and a loving father. James is survived by his children Julie McCormick Weng and Jason McCormick, as well as by his mother Clara Gamba, brother David McCormick, and his sister Grace Bray. A funeral service for James will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 3 PM at Rhoton Funeral Home with a visitation the evening prior from 6-8 PM at Rhoton Funeral Home. The burial will take place at Athens Cemetery in Athens, Texas on Friday, December 13, 2013 at 2:30 PM.
