James William Phillips
June 9, 1966 – January 8, 2013
James William Phillips was born June 9, 1966 and passed from this life on January 8, 2013 at the age of 46. James is survived by his son, Taylor Phillips, age 23, daughter Raven Phillips, age 20, sister Debra Neeley and brother-in-law Charles Neeley, sister Carolyn Phillips, and nephews Justin Neeley and Ryne Neeley.
James was a loving father that put his children first in everything he did. He loved spending time with his son Taylor and cheering his daughter’s soccer games. James participated as a coach on his children’s sports, and took great pride in their accomplishments.
James managed restaurants most of his adult life and was well liked and respected by his colleagues. James was a known prankster and took great joy in making people laugh. His personal creed is “I have never met a stranger.” James took great pride in his ability to put people at ease and make them welcome.
James LOVED sports and was an accomplished baseball and softball player. His favorite teams were the Texas Rangers and Green Bay Packers. You could always find him in the stands or in front of the TV cheering his team on game days. James was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
Memorial services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, January 17th in the chapel of Rhoton Funeral Home.
