

Jesse Hodgkinson, 94, died Wednesday, June 3, 2015, in Granbury, TX. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 10, 2015, from 10am until 11am at First Christian Church in Carrollton, TX. A memorial service will be held at 11am at the church, followed by a 2pm interment at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman, TX. Memorial may be made to www.calfarley.org, First Christian Church of Carrollton, or the charity of your choice. Jesse was born April 10, 1921, in Gainesville, TX to Beulah and Jesse Hodgkinson, Sr. He married Vinnie Pilgrim January 22, 1941 in Colbert, OK. In June of 1942 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, and after basic training in San Diego served in the South Pacific with the 2nd Marine Division Company B. For many years Jesse worked as a water plant operator for Stamford, TX and for the city of Dallas where he retired after 15 years of service. He and Vinnie enjoyed traveling around the United States with their RV, and spending time with friends and family. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Carrollton. Jesse was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He never met a stranger, worked hard to provide for his family, lived out his faith every day and was proud to be an American. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 64 years; his brother, Arthur; his son Larry; and a granddaughter, Sunny. Survivors include his daughter, Patsy Morgan and husband, Roger of Granbury, TX; daughter-in-law, Maryam Hodgkinson of Sunland, CA; grandsons, David Morgan of Las Vegas, NV and Greg Morgan of Carrollton, TX; and many other friends and relatives.
