

Marilyn was born on March 26, 1927, to Edward Burke Sr. and Margaret Pearl Burke. She graduated from Hughes Springs High School in Hughes Springs, Texas, and earned her Beauty Diploma from the Castillian School of Beauty Culture in Longview, Texas, in 1946.
On December 29, 1949, Marilyn married David L. Weaver. Together they shared 61 wonderful years of marriage until his passing.
Marilyn devoted her professional life to the beauty industry as a hairstylist and business owner. She proudly owned and operated Marquee Beauty Salon in Farmers Branch for more than four decades, building lasting friendships.
She was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church in Farmers Branch, Texas, where she faithfully participated until health limitations made her homebound.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Ed. and Pearl Burke, her brother, Ed Burke Jr., and her beloved husband, David L. Weaver.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Etheridge and husband Doug; her grandchildren, Tiffany Sullivan and husband Will, and Christy McClain and husband J.J. (James); her great-grandchildren, William and Theodore Sullivan, and Trey (James) and Kellan McClain; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on June 12, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Rhoton Funeral Home, 1511 South Interstate 35E, Carrollton, Texas 75006.
A graveside service will be held on June 13 at 12:00 noon at Hilltop Memorial Park Cemetery, 1810 Perry Road, Carrollton, Texas 75006.
Marilyn’s kindness, devotion to family, strong work ethic, and faithful spirit will be remembered by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy lives on through the generations of family she cherished so deeply.
