Joan F. Rivera

Joan Fanning Rivera, 73, passed away in her home on November 28th, 2015. Joan was born to John and Molly Grossart in Edinburgh, Scotland on April 2nd, 1942. She married her beloved husband, Ramon "Ray" Antonio Rivera Sr., on September 18, 1959 in Edinburgh, Scotland. They were joyfully married for 56 years until Ray's passing on October 7th, 2015. Joan lived a vivacious, meaningful life and spent much of her years caring for her children and grandchildren, and supporting her husband's career in the United States Air Force. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family. Joan is preceded in death by her parents, John and Molly, her granddaughter Melissa, and her beloved husband, Ray. Joan is survived by her children, Carmen, Ramon, and Wanda, and her grandchildren, Victor, Amanda, Chelsea, and Gavin.

Visitation will be Friday, December 4th, at 8:30 AM at Rhoton Funeral Home in Carrollton, Tx. Her funeral service will be held at 9:30 AM in the same location immediately following the visitation. Joan will be buried at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery following the funeral service. Arrangements are through Rhoton Funeral Home.
